Posted Date: 01/10/2018

The State Epidemiologist also sent the information attached.  Feel free to share with staff or whomever you deem necessary.  We have several confirmed cases of influenza in staff and students this week.

PLEASE stay home or keep your child home if they have flu-like symptoms.  You or your child must be excluded from school and school activities until at least 24 hours after the fever is gone, without using fever-reducing medications.  This exclusion period also applies to ones experiencing vomiting and diarrhea.

A few simple ways to protect you and your family are:

- frequent hand washing with soap and water, especially after coughing or sneezing, and before you eat.

-cover your coughs and sneezes with tissues or a cough or sneeze into the inside of the elbow, & immediately discard used tissues in the trash

-avoid touching your face.  Teach children not to touch his/her eyes, nose or mouth

-stay at least 3 feet away from people who might be ill

-eat well and get plenty of sleep.

-routinely CLEAN areas that students and staff tough often
